Welcome to the Columbia Valley! To newcomers, we are so excited to welcome you into our tight-knit community full of great eats and adventure-filled pursuits, with a vibrant art and live music scene. To returning visitors, we are so excited to welcome you back with open arms! Do not hesitate to contact us on our Instagram (@valleyziplineadventures) with any great spots we may have missed.

Here at Valley Zipline Adventures, we support local small businesses and partner with many of them for our various packages. There are so many amazing local spots within our orbit, but many others across the Valley as well! Below, you will find our ideal weekend in the Columbia Valley, all of which you can find and book for yourself if you wish to embark on a three-day adventure. Let’s zip to it!

Day One

Do you hear the Rooster crowing? It’s Day one of your epic Columbia Valley long weekend experience!

To start the weekend, we recommend you head over to the Invermere Bakery for a delicious Apple Fritter and a latte to start off your day. A Columbia Valley classic, The Invermere Bakery started as the Quality Bakery in 1956 founded by Jan Van Driel, a baker from the Netherlands, and has been beloved ever since.

After enjoying your delightful treats and espresso, it’s time to head out to the beautiful Columbia Valley Wetlands to get yourself a kayak or canoe from our friends out at Columbia River Paddle. They offer a self-guided experience, where you can be the captain of your boat, and explore the beauty of the wetlands via waterway. You can even hop in for a dip if you so choose!

Now that you’re nice and cool, and have worked up a bit of an appetite, it’s time to head on over to Radium for a bite to eat at the Horsethief Creek Pub and Eatery. If you’ve been along on one of our thrilling zipline tours, you’ve most definitely heard our guides rave over the yam fries. See for yourself if they live up to the hype! The Horsethief also highlights many local musicians every Sunday evening during their live music nights. It’s always a guarantee that you will be entertained.

It’s not time to end the day quite yet! On your way back to your accommodation, you’ll need something for the road. We’ve gotta head on over to Screamers for a scoop of delicious ice cream to polish off your sun-baked day. Roll the car windows down, and play some great music too, that always makes ice cream taste even better.

Day Two

This morning, it’s a bugle tune awakening you! (You’re rolling your eyes, but it’s better than your alarm clock back home!) It’s time to roll out of bed, probably pop on some aftersun, and jump straight into your next day.

To start it off, we are headed up to beautiful Panorama Mountain Resort to visit our friends over at Toby Creek Adventures for a mesmerizing Waterfall Explorer ATV tour! This tour is a guided ATV experience, during which you will be able to drive your very own vehicle and enjoy exclusive terrain up to 6500 feet in elevation. You will also be able to observe the beautiful Marmot Falls during the tour as well!

After we’ve enjoyed our automated adventure, it’s time for the beach and a snack. We are headed over to Shortcuts to enjoy a round of hand-cut fries, and delicious lemonade. They also offer a wide variety of dips for you to test out! Taking them to go, we recommend you head down to Kinsmen Beach to enjoy beautiful Lake Windermere. If you haven’t had enough paddling yet, Columbia River Paddle also has a location for hourly rentals on a variety of boats, and other beach activities such as Spikeball, and Volleyball. Challenge your family/friends to a tournament, loser buys gelato over at Stolen Church to wrap up your day.

Day Three

Good morning! There’s a crow outside of your window who has decided to be your alarm for today. Nature is beautiful.

We’ve saved the best for last today (not to toot our own horn or anything). Today, we are headed over to Valley Zipline Adventures to experience our Zip and Play package! You’ll soar through our zipline tour, involving seven different exciting ziplines, including a chance to win some pretty awesome prizes via our lovingly nicknamed Cornhole Express. Zipline cornhole? We’re in.

The Play aspect of our package includes a pass to our Aerial Park, boasting thirty-three different obstacles, and three different levels standing at ten, thirty, and fifty feet respectively. An hour and a half long, this attraction will have your heart racing, both from adrenaline, and the workout! If you’re feeling especially pumped with courage, you can make a quick descent with our Puma Plummet jump tower. Standing at fifty feet, it’s no small feat, but it makes for a great story around the Thanksgiving table this October.

To end off both our day and our weekend, it’s time to rest and relax at the good old Radium Hot Springs. Sitting tucked away in the canyons below Redstreak Mountain, the pools offer idyllic tranquility and are a very popular attraction in the valley. The Indigenous peoples (Ktunaxa Nation), were the first to find these pools and used them traditionally for healing and soothing aches and pains. So sit back, relax, and enjoy as you conclude your adventure-filled weekend.

We here at VZA are big fans of supporting local businesses and contributing to the thriving tourism industry in the Columbia Valley. Thank you for reading through our suggestions, and we hope that they help plan your next vacation out here nestled in the Rockies and Purcell Mountains. See you soon, Adventure Awaits!
